§ 10.04.040. Prohibited parking.

  • (A)

    It is unlawful to park a vehicle within any section of a street which is indicated by lettering upon official signs that parking is prohibited in that section of the street at that time of day or markings on the roadway.

    (B)

    It is unlawful to park within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection. If there is neither sidewalk nor shoulder, a crosswalk is the portion of the roadway at an intersection, measuring not less than six feet in width that would be included within the prolongation of the lateral lines of the sidewalk, shoulder or both on the opposite side of the street or highway if there were a sidewalk.

    (C)

    No vehicle bearing a for sale sign shall be parked for the purpose of selling said vehicle on any public street or public parking area in Jacksonville, with the exception of the historic commercial concentration bounded by Fifth, First, C, and Main Streets. Vehicles with For Sale signs in the historic commercial concentration shall be parked on public streets or public parking areas in conformance with existing parking regulations or for a period not to exceed eight hours.
