§ 12.20.020. Property owner; duty to repair and clear sidewalks.

  • (A)

    It is the duty of the owners of the land adjoining any street to maintain the adjacent sidewalk in good repair and to remove obstructions.

    (B)

    No person shall:

    (1)

    Permit the maintenance of a public sidewalk abutting his or her property to become in an unsafe or hazardous condition for public use;

    (2)

    Construct, repair or cause to be constructed or repaired a sidewalk in the City contrary to the provisions of sections 12.20.040 and 12.20.050;

    (3)

    Refuse to construct or reconstruct a sidewalk abutting the property owned by him or her when ordered to do so by the Council and when notified as provided by section 12.20.090.
