§ 2.08.040. Authority to establish fire lines.

  • (A)

    Whenever in their opinion it shall become necessary to facilitate the extinguishing of any fire, on any given property, the Fire Marshal, or in their absence, the Police Division, shall have authority to establish fire lines.

    (B)

    It is unlawful for any person, except the owner, lessee or someone having some property rights or interest in the burning property or other property imperiled thereby, to enter the fire limits fixed by such lines.

    (C)

    Nothing in this chapter or chapter 8.08 shall be defined to exclude members of the Fire or Police Divisions from the limits so established.
